two fingers up to yesterday

well people have been telling me to write, so i'm writing. i'm feeling good today. ethan is kicking away, no doubt in shock from the garlic i'm currently ingesting. this weekend i get the pleasure of going to one of my dearest friends' baby shower. she's having a boy as well, so i'm going to see first-hand what kind of loot a baby boy can get. i bought wrapping paper with baby animals on it and almost cried. geez. i've been watching highly graphic birth videos, and trying to chart when ethan kicks throughout the day. it's safe to say i have baby on the brain....and not much else. i'm forgetful to the max. i forget what story i'm telling in the middle of the story. it used to be that brad could count on me to remember things that he forgets. no longer. now we just both forget. oh well. how does that quote go about the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind?

i know people have babies every day. but i guess that means that miracles happen every day. how many things have we overlooked or forgotten about that are undoubtedly straight-up miracles? our universe, our eyes, our fingers and toes, the sun rising and setting, the moon controlling the tides. these things are all around us every day. i'm hoping i start to notice more. i'm hoping that after i have this baby, i will still feel the stirrings of a miracle inside of me. and if ethan ever starts to lose his faith, his eyes for miracles, i can tell him. i know miracles, i was there when you were born.
