don't stop the music

i thought i would blog and let you know how i'm feeling nowadays. i'm actually feeling much, much better. still feel sick from time to time, but nothing like before. i'm eating pretty normally and getting a FEW things done. today i'm trying an experiment where i'm not taking my Zofran all day. we'll see what happens. i'm hoping for the best. i'm tired of spending money on this medicine! anyway, i went to the doctor this past wednesday and had a great check-up. my blood pressure was great, which is amazing considering all the salt i've consumed lately. my weight was good, which is also amazing considering how much i puked, and the baby's heartbeat was good, which is amazing just because it IS! i still can't believe that a human being is growing inside of me! and that somehow, it's doing really well, despite all the puking and eating salt! wow. crazy. on halloween we will have our mid-pregnancy ultrasound, which means we will find out the gender. i cannot tell you how excited i am for this. it will be like someone introducing me to my child. "there! say hello to mckenzie/ethan!" plus they will check everything out to make sure it's growing well. that part i'm nervous about, but i'm trying to go in with a positive attitude. it's unbecoming when i act out of faith.
this week is apparently the first week that the baby can hear outside of the womb. because of that, i am trying to make my musical choices carefully. last night we watched "elizabethtown", which has a great soundtrack, and today i am watching michael jackson's "this is it" documentary. so i think we're off to a good start. i'm trying to find songs that are 60 BPM, which is about the same as a heartbeat. supposed to be calming for baby. makes sense. it's harder to do than i thought, though, especially if trying to find something other than classical. i'll do my best. so far, my best has been enough.
